Parnassius smintheus

This butterfly has a 12.5 inch wingspan. It was made to order and I thought I’d offer it up for orders. It is black and orange powder glass on an opalescent white base. Fusing is done on each individual piece of the white and after fusing put back together with traditional stain glass techniques. The body is templated sheet copper fir the abdomen, thorax and head. Tapered copper legs and black gold iridescent eyes...though any colour could be chosen. Patina and wax finish
